Pierre comes from a long line of wine growers (since 1610), following Léon, Henri and Paul who transmitted this passion which is so unique of Récoltant-Manipulants, those champagne growers who bottle and sell their wines under their own labels.
Backed by these traditions and experience acquired over the years, Pierre and his wife Sophie are now developing this know-how, keeping pace with technological advances, but always remaining in harmony with nature.
Our terroir is located on the edge of Montagne de Reims. Our village, Ambonnay, is a Grand Cru village, one of only 17 having earned this label of excellence. On the seven hectares we cultivate with care, we create seven Grand Cru vintages. Thanks to this unique soil, our Pinot Noir black grapes, and our Chardonnay white grapes express their full natural richness.
The Cuvée Prestige, Princesse des Thunes is 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay from 2000, and 50% reserve wine. Very rich and truly complex. Now the brioche quality comes through. This is amazing Champagne (and it is one I’ve sold for a number of years). The vintage wine (2000) is 40% Pinot Noir and 60% Chardonnay, aged in old oak casks. Now the Chardonnay begins to assert itself. They recommend this wine with foie gras.

The Brut Rosé is 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay. It’s a wonderful bright pink, no salmon at all, and is among the fruitiest Rosés I’ve tried. I find it distressingly drinkable, can’t stop myself from taking large sips, no, gulps, you just can’t help yourself. It reminds me of the Vilmart, but without the oak. An utterly delicious Champagne.

The Brut is 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay; 30-50% is reserve wine. The wine is classic and not at all heavy. It’s a perfect aperitif wine or great with light foods.
The Blanc de Noir is, as you might guess, 100% Pinot Noir, and aged in old oak barrels. There was a faint oakiness when I tried the wine there, but I’d expect that to be gone by now. Lovely, long flavors, and a very stylish wine.
A mature color (reflecting 6 years spent aging in the cellar) and a rich bouquet - powerful, complex, vivid with delicate aromas of honey, way, crystallized fruits, dried fruits. In the mouth, the richness of exceptional Champagne is confirmed by a wide variety of flavors in which the perfect blend of power (Pinot Noir) and finesse (Chardonnay) bestows a full flavor.
50% Pinot Noir, 50% Chardonnay.
